Storytelling and Narrative

This course incorporates journalistic principles to teach students how to recognize compelling narratives and build stories. Students learn how to use narrative techniques such as character, story arc, scene and structure to create memorable content for a variety of audiences. Students use these techniques to create a variety of assignments suitable for different publications and communications needs. Additionally, students learn how to pitch narrative content to internal and external editors and learn how to repurpose stories through various writing forms. They also practise revising their own work and learn to work collaboratively as peer editors.
