Have any questions about our services or need help setting up an appointment? Click on the following link to talk to our front desk support person. This reception service is open during our normal hours of operation (scroll down to see our hours) from Monday to Friday (not Saturdays).

Online tutoring is available for Writing Support from Tuesday, September 8 until Friday, December 18.

Online writing support will be available to all Humber and Guelph-Humber students during our regular hours of operation (see our hours below).

You will also find support for your research and writing by visiting our partners in Humber Libraries and Peer Assisted Learning Support (PALS). Students can book online tutoring sessions using our WCOnline booking system.

Whether you want to work on your thesis development, essay structure, research skills, or points of grammar, our friendly staff offer personalized instruction on an appointment basis.

At the Writing Centre, we can

  • Help you start and develop your writing assignments
  • Explain how to document, structure and format your writing assignments
  • Guide you in the production of academic, business, and technical documents
  • Show you how to review marked assignments and use them as learning tools 
  • Develop your grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills 
  • Guide you in the use of APA, MLA, and other citation styles 
  • Build your confidence when facing deadlines and due dates

To book a writing tutor

  • Go to our online booking system
  • Register for an account
  • Choose the appropriate schedule and log in
  • Select an available time slot

We encourage students to schedule their appointments well in advance as available spots can go fast as the term progresses.

HeadStart is a program designed by Humber’s English Department to provide reading and writing support to future, new, and current Humber students.
