Instructions for Booking an Online Writing Support Session

Students can choose to book either in-person or online appointments by registering in our online booking system at https://humber.mywconline.com/ and selecting one of these schedules: North Writing Tutors Summer 2022 or Lakeshore Writing Tutors Summer 2022.

All online writing tutoring will be done by appointment only. Please follow the instructions below to book an online appointment.

How to Register in WCOnline and Book Appointments

Registering for an Account

  1. Go to https://humber.mywconline.com/
  2. On the WC Online homepage, click on “Register for an account”.
  3. Fill out the required information: email address, first and last name, course, Faculty (formerly School), student number, and phone number.
  4. Choose a password to use for your account (It must be at least 10 characters).
  5. Select your email preferences. We recommend that you keep the default settings (This can be updated at a later time; see: “Modifying Account Information” below).
  6. Click “Register”.

Booking an Appointment with a Tutor - for Writing Support

  1. On the WC Online homepage, enter your email address and password.
  2. Select the appropriate North or Lakeshore campus schedule.
  3. Click “Log In”.
  4. Use the Next week | Current week | Previous week buttons on the calendar icon to find the date you want.
  5. The date and time are shown along the top of each day while tutor names are listed along the left. Click on a white space under the time you want with the tutor of your choice.
  6. Confirm the start and end time of your appointment (appointments can be half an hour or an hour).
  7. Select Online Tutoring or Written Feedback from the dropdown list. For more information on Online options, scroll down. 
  8. Select your course or academic school from the drop-down, enter your professor’s name, and write a short description of what you are planning to work on during the appointment. Then click “Save appointment”. You will receive a confirmation email with your appointment information and a link to the scheduling system.

Online Tutoring

  1. Follow the first six steps to book an appointment with a tutor.
  2. Choose “Yes - Schedule Online Appointment” from the dropdown list.
  3. Select your course or academic school from the drop-down, enter your professor’s name, and write a short description of what you are planning to work on during the appointment.
  4. Log back into the website approximately five to ten minutes before the start of your appointment. Then, open this appointment and click "Start or Join Online Consultation.”.
  5. Type or paste your work into the large section on the left side of the window.
  6. Use the chat sidebar on the right to talk to your tutor.
  7. When the appointment is finished, simply close the window.

Written Feedback

  1. Follow the first six steps to book an appointment with a tutor.
  2. Choose “Yes - Schedule Written Feedback Appointment” from the dropdown list.
  3. Select your course or academic school from the drop-down, enter your professor’s name, and write a short description of the document you are attaching to the appointment.
  4. Log back into the website at least five to ten minutes before the start of your appointment (earlier is fine).
  5. At the top left part of the screen (under your name) click on the yellow folder icon near HELP?, use the drop-down box to select the correct appointment, then choose your file and give it a brief description in the Document Title field before clicking “Upload File”.
  6. Watch your email for notification that your appointment has been modified or that someone has responded to your paper.
