Language Interpreter Training Certificate Program Information Session

At the Language Interpreter Training Certificate Program Information Session, individuals interested in becoming interpreters will learn about:

  • The courses in the program, entrance requirements, necessary language skills, costs
  • Main topics and practice skills taught within each course
  • Interpreter skills assessment and certification test: ILSAT(Language Interpretation Skills Assessment Test)
  • Class locations, length of program, dates and times
  • Industry collaborations
  • Careers as interpreters
  • OCCI (Ontario Council on Community Interpreting)

PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment Recognition) Information Session

Those already working as interpreters or who have past experience with interpretation will learn about:

  • LITP credit recognition through past learning and working experience in the field of language interpreting
  • Prior credentials assessment process
  • Modes of evaluation
  • PLAR costs
  • Application procedures

There is no cost to attend any of the Information Sessions. They are drop-in sessions, so no registration is required. There will be time allocated at the end of each session for questions.
