Abstract

Previously incarcerated individuals face challenges on many fronts upon re-entry into society. Obtaining housing is one of the many difficulties that are faced by them upon release. In recent years, due to the pandemic, many of these individuals do not have access to transitional homes. This has led to an increase in the rate of homelessness and recidivism in this population. Secondary research was conducted to examine the barriers faced by them for successful reintegration into society. Based on the analysis of previously conducted research papers, recommendations focusing on the overall well-being are proposed.
