Abstract
This report delves into the impact of pharmaceutical industry monopolization on the Canadian healthcare landscape. Through a comprehensive examination of industry dynamics and patent laws, it investigates their repercussions on drug accessibility and pricing. Systematic disparities and inefficiencies are rigorously evaluated, drawing from both qualitative and quantitative data. The analysis reveals the multifaceted challenges and barriers confronting patients, highlighting the rivalry between brand-name and generic pharmaceutical companies, and their disparate approaches to innovation. Recommendations include fostering competition, implementing nationwide comprehensive drug coverage plans, and mandating pharmaceutical companies to address shortages proactively.
