Factors Contributing to Immigrants Migrating from Greater Toronto Area to Province of Alberta

Abstract

The report aims to explore different factors that are responsible for the migration of people from Greater Toronto area to province of Alberta using the triangulated approach. Findings from different secondary sources indicated a net positive migration in the year 2022 and Ontarians were the most-new residents to Alberta. Low taxes, Strong housing market, High payrate, more job opportunity and low commuting times were reported as the prime factors for the migration to Alberta. The report concludes with strategic recommendations customized for different stakeholders like implementing more Permanent residency programmes by government and improving the health system of Alberta.
