How do I use the college credit(s)?

Applying for a Humber Full-Time Program?

We hope you will return to Humber for a full-time program. Check our website www.humber.ca  for an overview of all the exciting programs Humber offers.

If you are accepted into a Humber program or a program at another College, you might be eligible for transfer credit for your Dual Credit course(s).

You will need 50% or better in your Dual Credit course(s) to be considered for transfer credit at Humber. Note: being exempted for one course per semester will not lower the tuition costs – you will still be considered a full-time student.

How Do I Request a Transcript?

Once you have completed your course, visit the MyHumber website and click on How to Request an Official Humber Transcript.

How to use your Humber credit(s)?

If you have credit for more than one Dual Credit course toward your full- time program, you should speak to the Program Coordinator about how to organize your timetable. If you have more than one course credit, you may be able to spread the courses throughout the program.

Note: if you have advanced standing for one course and are taking a full-time program, you will still be considered a full-time student and will have to pay full tuition. You will save money on textbooks and will have one less course to take, BUT if you are taking four out of five courses, you are still considered a full-time student and pay full tuition.

Keep in mind that advanced standing depends on the affinity of the Dual Credit course. For example, there is no credit for a Landscape course toward the Police Foundations program, etc.

Here are the possibilities for transfer credit for your Humber Dual Credit course(s):

Humber Program Specific Courses

If you have been accepted into a Humber diploma program and have passed a Dual Credit course from that same program, your Dual Credit course can be used as a credit toward that specific program (or the same program in other colleges) as follows:

In most cases, you should receive credit for Dual Credit General Education courses toward most diploma programs but some diploma programs require very specific general education courses.  In a few cases, the GNED course you studied may not be eligible for credit in the program of your choice.
